Santiago Jara Astaburuaga is a musician, composer and producer. After beginning his musical studies in classical guitar, he delved into different Latin-American musical styles. Specifically, “Vals Criollo” (Creole Waltz) which he developed during his long stint with the band Los Celestinos.
Following his passion for cinematic music, he pursued a professional education in music composition with honors in music for cinema and audiovisual media.

He has had an extensive background as a composer, working in Chilean films and documentaries such as: Caleidoscopio(2016) by Paulo Paulista  El diablo
es magnífico(2017) by  Nicolás Videla, Perkin (2017) by Roberto
Farías, Espacio desierto (2018) by Yerko Ravlic and La Nave Del
Olvido(2019) by Nicol Ruiz.

His experience also stretches to dramatic arts, working in plays such as "Travesía" (2016- 2017) by Tamara Ferreira, awarded best musical score in the XVI Festival de Directores Emergentes (XVI Festival for Emergent Directors) of the National Theatre of Chile.

In the UK, he has been a part of "100 Years" (2019) and “Push” (2020) by the theatre company "POPELEI".
Since 2018 he has established himself in London in order to perfect his knowledge of composition by undergoing several courses on music on film cinematic music at Goldsmith University, Composing for Media, Film and TV.

He has also taken workshops in music production in London’s Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. Santiago is currently working for the play “Push” by "POPELEI", and various other
international audiovisual productions, which will be premiered on the year 2020.
